Craft Days by the Visteria Foundation

Craft Days kicks off on 20 May – a new project by the Visteria Foundation inspired by the inclusion of basketry on UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

At the heart of the first edition is an exhibition offering an original interpretation of the theme of weaving. Alongside works that directly reference the tradition of weaving with wicker or straw, there are objects that evoke the idea of interweaving through their structure, organic forms and materiality, including both historical works by Władysław Wołkowski and Paweł Grunert, as well as pieces by contemporary artists and designers such as Agnieszka Mazur, Zuzanna Spaltabaka and Igor Jansen.

The programme of events will also include lectures, talks and guided tours, including a lecture by Dr Krystyna Łuczak-Surówka on the work of Paweł Grunert (Sunday 24 May, 4.00 pm).

Admission to the exhibition and accompanying events is free. Registration is required.
