Szczodre Gody — Slavic Christmas
"Szczodre Gody" (Koliada) is a celebration rooted in Slavic tradition. It was observed during the winter solstice, when the nights grew shorter, and the days began to lengthen. This marked the start of the new solar year and symbolized a moment of light triumphing over darkness for the Slavs. It brought hope and joy. The festivities took place around the table, with rituals like divining from hay straws hidden under dishes and tablecloths, exchanging gifts, caroling, and decorating the didukh - the first sheaf of harvested rye placed in the corner of the room and kept there until spring.
The festive installation of OBJEKT draws from the essence and ancient roots of Christmas rituals. It is filled with light, reflections, and raw, natural materials: porcelain, wood, wicker, wool, but also the generosity of a tender human touch that sculpts, weaves, and breathes life into objects through emotions. These OBJEKTS are created to circulate among people, generously gifting both the maker and the receiver.

“Szczodre Gody” to święto, które wywodzi się z tradycji słowiańskiej. Było obchodzone w trakcie zimowego przesilenia, kiedy noc stawała się krótsza, a dzień - dłuższy. Otwierało nowy rok solarny i dla Słowian stanowiło moment symbolicznego zwycięstwa światła nad ciemnością. Przynosiło nadzieję i radość.
